Why do we keep dating the same person in different bodies?
When Robby withdraws without quite leaving, Claire hires a sex worker to rehearse the relationship pattern she keeps repeating. Both in their fifties, Claire and Robby are old enough to understand themselves, yet still unable to stop reenacting the same dynamic.
Over two encounters inside one apartment, the film traces a woman trying to understand her attraction to rejection and a man who has learned that leaving first is its own protection.
